It’s hard to believe it’s been over four years since I designed my daughter’s nursery. Yet even today, the photos continue to get so much attention on Pinterest, and I still get messages about the space!
I’ve always loved home décor, but it wasn’t until I designed this room that I really started sharing that passion online. So many people ask about my design process, where I find pieces, and how I pull everything together — so I figured now that I have a blog, it was the perfect time to share.

My Vision for the Nursery
I knew from the beginning that I didn’t want a traditional baby girl nursery. Instead, I wanted something moody with a boho vibe, while still incorporating touches of pink. My goal was to create a room that could transition as she grew, with furniture that was both beautiful and practical.
My Design Process
I’m such a visual person… I have to see everything laid out before I make decisions. For this project, I used Canva to put together the big pieces: furniture, rugs, lighting, and artwork. This made it so much easier to see if everything matched before purchasing, instead of going through the hassle of buying and returning large items.
Once I had a cohesive design board I loved, I started purchasing the bigger pieces. As you can see, I did make some changes from the original plan due to pieces going out of stock and not loving the paint color when I put the sample on the wall. The smaller décor like knick-knacks and accents came later from some of my favorite stores like Target, TJ Maxx, and Home Goods.

Special Touches That Made the Room
- Accent Wall: Some amazing friends of ours created the herringbone wall pattern, which instantly became the star of the room. If you don’t have handy friends, I’d definitely recommend hiring someone for this project.
- Dream Closet: We worked with a local cabinet company to build a custom closet. It’s functional and beautiful, with hanging space, drawers, and shelving for special keepsakes.

The Wall Color Everyone Asks About
The #1 question I still get to this day: What’s the paint color?
The accent wall is Bombay Pink by Valspar. When I first tried it, it was a little brighter than I envisioned. Luckily, the paint associate at Lowe’s suggested making it 10% darker, and it was perfect!
💡 Pro tip: Ask your paint center to test a small sample before committing. Some people who’ve tried to match the color have mentioned it turned out more purple for them, so testing first is key.

Shop the Nursery
I’ve gotten so many questions over the years about where I purchased certain pieces from my daughter’s nursery. To make it easy, I’ve linked everything I could find over on my LIKEtoKNOW.it page. You can shop the furniture, décor, and accents directly there!

A few of my favorites:
- Crib & dresser
- The boho rug that tied the room together
- Chic light fixture + accent décor pieces
Even though some items are from several years ago, I’ve included similar finds for anything that’s no longer available so you can recreate the look.
Why This Room Means So Much to Me
This nursery will always hold a special place in my heart. It’s not just about the design — it’s about the journey of finally bringing home our baby girl. One day I’ll share that story in full, but for now, I’m just so grateful to have these memories captured in a space that was made with so much love.
Thanks for following along with this project! I can’t wait to share my son’s nursery next. Stay tuned for that post soon!
